History group switches up ‘stocktake’

The customary festive season stocktake of the Millicent-based research collection of the South East Family History Group will not take place in 2024.

In its place, the SEFHG committee has adopted the suggestion of its librarian Sandra Edlington and will instead have a working bee in lieu of the annual stocktake.

It will commence at 10am on January 17.

SEFHG president Noel Boyle said the tasks included tidying the storeroom and rearranging the furniture in the reading room.

“We will wait until the holiday season is over to find out if we can set up the computer room,” Mr Boyle said.

He said repairs have yet to be completed following damage to walls and carpet caused by a leaking roof in 2023.

Meanwhile, the first afternoon research session for 2024 will be held on January 27.
