Hybrid Kona a crowd favourite

Horsepower of a different kind was out and about late last week with The SE Voice letting the latest Hyundai Kona Hybrid N Line stretch its legs around the region courtesy of Barry Maney Hyundai.

The manufacturers boldest small SUV sports a ‘dynamic design of the future’, with the geometric bodylines standing out from the crowd which is refreshing to see in the motoring world.

Hopped up with the N Line package, this Hyundai Kona Hybrid stands out from the crowd with the addition of body coloured cladding, N Line specific front and rear bumper, side skirts and rear hatch wing, as well as LED front headlights with black bezel and LED rear lights with black tinted lens and silver painted N Line skid plate as well as stylish 18-inch alloy wheels.

There’s no shortage of colours to further enhance the Kona Hybrid N Line styling, with Atlas White shining extremely brightly under the Autumn sunlight, while Abyss Black, Cyber Grey, Neoteric Yellow, Soultronic Orange and Ultimate Red help show off the sculpted body lines.

Under the bonnet, a highly-efficient Smartstream G1.6 GDi Hybrid powerplant drives the front wheels through a 6-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission, with a quoted combined fuel cycle of just 3.9-litres of fuel per hundred kilometres maximising economy through a 38-litre fuel tank.

The N-Line experience continues once you hop inside the Kona Hybrid, with noticeable enhancements over the entry level model including a 10.25-inch supervision cluster display which pairs nicely alongside the top-notch infotainment system, comfortable leather and suede trim complete with N Logo and red accents for that racey touch as well as an N Line steering wheel.

The-screen system neatly tucked into the dashboard clearly broadcasts all your engine and battery charge system vitals in real-time, with everything from revs, speed and road alerts all the way through to fuel motor and electric motor usage information showcased through the large ultra-wide platform.

USB-C charging is also scattered throughout the cabin, with two front and two rear ports complementing the wireless charging pad which is tucked neatly under the vehicle’s dual zone climate control system.

With the high-quality exterior and interior finish, there’s no surprise the way the Kona Hybrid handles the black-top when cruising around town or hitting the open road with ease.

No matter the drive, whether you are simply running day to day errands or venturing out on the open road the Kona is firmly planted on the road surface and looks the goods while doing it!

Having the sporty style of the Kona N Line paired with the economy of a hybrid powerplant is a great combination for those looking to transition into a car of the future without making the full jump to a pure electric vehicle.

On top of a suite of safety systems including driver attention warning, forward collision and blindspot avoidance, high beam, lane keep and lane follow assistance, rear cross traffic collision and safe exit warnings is Hyundai’s Bluelink technology.

Touted as the next evolution of a super-connected lifestyle, Bluelink enables owners to check on, communicate and remotely operate features of the Kona right from your fingertips through a dedicated smartphone application.

If the Kona Hybrid N Line has ticked all the boxes for your next car – and let’s be honest, why would not it – pop on down and see the team at Barry Maney Hyundai at 43 Percy Street Mount Gambier, contact the dealership on 8721 3400 or check out the stock online today.
