The SE Voice has welcomed its newest recruit Bri Robinson after a near 10-year spell from the industry.
Most would have known Bri from working for The South Eastern Times where she started out as a cadet journalist and completed her training.
After completing her cadetship she moved on to a different industry before becoming a mum to Elijah, now six and Alaska, two.
During that time she studied early childhood education care and kept the community up to date with local events via Facebook page – What’s On Limestone Coast.
Her return to writing will see Bri keep the community informed of Mount Gambier City and Grant District Council happenings.
“Initially I was going to wait until my daughter was a bit older to really get stuck into finding journalism work again. When this opportunity came up to get back into writing I did not hesitate to take the job,” she said.
“I often think, you can take the journo out of journalism, but you cannot take journalism out of the journo. That itch to get back into writing again was always there.
“I’d like to think of myself as curious. Though I’ll largely be covering Mount Gambier and Grant councils, my interests are diverse.
“I’m incredibly excited about being back and what’s even better is I can sincerely say I have joined a great team.”
