Juniors tested in tricky conditions

Kingston def Lucindale Roos 53-37 games
Some great Southern Ports Junior Tennis Association games were played in chilly but sunny Lucindale.

Jacob and Anna were a good match for Jimmy and Harry and Kingston got the win 6-3.

Ernie and George outplayed Hudson and Katie in their double to get the 7-5 win for Lucindale.

A third close double between Charles/Catherine and Chloe/Emilie saw Kingston win the tie break.

Some more close scores in the singles made for excellent shots from both teams and Kingston came away with the win in the end.

Thanks to Emilie Schaefer for dusting off the racket and filling in last minute, as well as Anna Rasheed, as the flu took out three of Kingston’s regular players.

Naracoorte Yellow def Naracoorte Red 42-6 games
It was a great morning of tennis with some closely contested games.

Once again the wind made for tough conditions.

The top double saw Alice and Jack combine well to have a convincing win (6-1) over Thomas and Digby.

Yellow had wins in the other two doubles.

Missy and Fliss had a close game against Gus and Maggie and Beau and Louis were strong in their double.

Alice, Maggie and Jack secured singles wins for Red and Missy, Beau and Louis had good singles wins for Yellow.

Naracoorte Yellow were victorious in the end, winning 42-36.

A big thanks to Jack and Aston for filling in.

Lucindale Koalas def Millicent/Beachport 48-32 games

It was great to have the sun shining in Lucindale.

Many parents were out helping coordinate and support their children, which was wonderful to see.

Fingers crossed the wind drops out for round 4.

Lucindale was too strong but some close matches made for a great day out.

Naracoorte Blue def Naracoorte White 51-42 games
It was another week dominated by wind but everyone adjusted and all the kids played extremely well.

Charlie and Mia McCarthy were too strong for Max Lush and Elsie Orton in the doubles, getting the 6-1 win.

The two Sids had a great match and Sid Wilkin won the tie breaker.

Excellent games by all.
