Children across the Glenelg Shire have started receiving a colourful “box of wonders” to help them with their learning journey as part of a State Government initiative.
Kinder Kits have arrived and will be rolled out across funded kindergartens services to all children enrolled in three-year-old programs.
Kinder Kits are carry cases filled with books and activities made especially for three-year-old’s to enjoy at home.
Funded and distributed by the State Government, all children starting funded three-year-old kindergarten in 2022 in Victoria are eligible to receive a free kit.
Glenelg Shire Children’s Services Manager Miryam Franjic said the kits were a fantastic resource for local families.
“In the coming weeks families across the shire will take home their very own colourful Kinder Kit and discover books, toys and activities their box contains,” she said.
“Each kit offers books by Australian authors and activities such as magnetic puzzles and cards, markers, pencils and a whiteboard.
“The kits are specially designed to complement children’s learning at kindergarten by offering fun and creative activities, and help children reach their key learning and development outcomes.
“They are also created to help extend children’s learning through play.
“We look forward to seeing many smiles as these kits are taken home to be used and loved by three-year-olds and their families.”
