For the first time in the history of the Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Football League three players have won the Virgo Mail Medal.
The Virgo Mail Medal which is presented to the best and fairest for the A Grade was shared around this year between Daniel Bibby, Zac Richards, and Josh Gregg all tied up in 23 votes.
Gregg has had a fantastic year for Naracoorte and was crucial in getting the Demons into the top four and getting to play finals footy.
Keith would finish one place above Naracoorte and Bibbys amazing season was extremely important to his side’s success, Bibby would finish the season with 11 goals and 8 best players.
Zac Richards had an excellent season in Border Districts midfield helping the side to a grand final appearance, Richards was also dangerous going forward scoring 18 goals.
Richards teammate Mark Quinn would finish one point off the top three to win the Edwards Medal for the runner up.
Quinn had a fantastic season for Border Districts, he would finish the season with 32 goals ahead of the grand final.
Richards would also be presented with the A Grade most valuable player award, to add to his terrific season.
The 2023 leading goal kick award would go to Naracoorte’s dominant Zac Peake who finished the season with 66 goals averaging more then four goals a game.
The reserves leading goal kicker would go to Penola’s Tom Clayfield.
Clayfield would finish with 67 goals for the season and also averaged a remarkable four goals a game.
Lucindales Tristan Menz was named as the 2023 Reserves Wellington Medalist as the best and fairest for the reserves during the 2023 season.
The Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara football league has also had its junior presentations with several young stars getting recognition for brilliant seasons.
The under-14 best and fairest award went to Naracoorte’s Quentin Mitchell, with Bordertown’s Jack Will finishing runner up.
Mitchell helped guide his team to a Minor Premiership in 2023 and will hope to take them to the grand final.
Jack Will was a highlight in a struggling team, Bordertown would finish second to last but it would not stop Will from displaying his talents.
In the under 17.5 the Ted Lehmann medal would go to Bordertowns Heath Keatley who finished in first in the best and fairest count.
Keatley’s fantastic season would help Bordertown finish second on the ladder and get a win in its first final against Kybybolite.
The runner up was Kybybolite’s Lachlan McKenzie, McKenzie’s team finished third on the ladder and will need to beat Bordertown to go through to the Grand Final.
The junior coach of the year was also announced, being awarded to Clint Barass from Bordertown.

The forward line included Blake Reed (Keith), Zac Peake (Naracoorte), and Rory Taggert (Naracoorte), with a half forward line of Daniel Bibby (Keith) James Hinge (Mundulla) and Mark Quinn (Border Districts).
The Centre line included Will Watts (Kingston) and Henry Trengrowth (Lucindale) on the wings with Jake McGrice (Mundulla) in the middle after his excellent season being crucial for Mudula claiming the minor premierships.
The Half back line has Josh Gregg (Naracoorte) and Jack McAuley (Keith) on the flanks with Jacob Eats (Bordertown) selected at centre half back after an outstanding season.
The back pockets selected were Tom Gaden (Mundulla) and Jayden Eldridge (Penola) with Ben Rogers (Kingston) winning selection at full back.
Jacob Grosser (Mundulla) was selected in the ruck with Billy Laurie (Kybybolite)
and Zac Richards (Border Districts).
Dylan Auciello (Border Districts), Seb Schreiber (Keith), Campbell Watts (Kingston), and Dylan Shoenmakers .(Border Districts)
Aaron Jelfs was selected as the coach after a fantastic season leading Border Districts to second place on the ladder and have booked a spot in the Grand Final.
