The Limestone Coast Local Government Association has appointed a new executive officer.
The association’s president Mount Gambier Mayor Lynette Martin OAM last week announced that Adrian Maywald has been appointed to the role.
Mr Maywald was the Lucindale Area School principal for the past 11 years before leaving this year to head up the Limestone Coast Sporting Academy.
Mayor Martin said Mr Maywald was a passionate, high-energy person who was committed, engaging, with a strong knowledge of the region who has a track record of successfully delivering projects in his previous roles.
Mr Maywald will be responsible for the management and strategic leadership of LCLGA by developing, implementing, evaluating, reviewing and reporting on LCLGA’s strategic, corporate and financial plans in an efficient and effective manner and in cooperation with the board.
He will also provide professional support to the board in a range of administration, finance, governance, marketing and lobbying functions.
In addition, the executive officer prepares a variety of regional submissions, reviews, planning documents and correspondence as required by the board.
Mr Maywald will also be required to implement strategic regional projects as determined by the Board and provide organisation leadership and empowerment of LCLGA staff, consultants and contractors.
He will commence in the role on December 4.
