The University of South Australia Mount Gambier Campus will host its Nelson Mandela lecture livestream tomorrow night.
The exclusive livestream will be presented by human rights activist and former Socceroos captain Craig Foster AM, who will delve into big topics including contrasting positions regarding calling for ‘shared humanity’ and ‘togetherness’ in the midst of the COVID pandemic and the reality of a decaying aged care sector.
He will also discuss the ongoing trauma and deaths in custody of first nations peoples, the victimisation of poor and minority groups and the failure of parliamentary leaders to respond humanely to sexual abuse and rape claims.
This event has been long-awaited as it was postponed numerous times due to COVID.
Pre-event drinks will begin at 5:30pm and the livestream will start at 6pm, followed by tea, coffee and a light supper.
Registrations can be made through Eventbrite at www.bit.ly/3vgWVA7 and the campus can be contacted on 8721 8900 for more information.
