Life saving work earns top honour

Anational award has recently been bestowed on Beachport resident Julie Moran.

The Beachport Surf Life Saving Club head instructor was awarded Trainer of the Year at the 2024 Surf Life Saving Australia Awards of Excellence held in Sydney.

The only other South Australian to be recognised was Hannah Darling of the Grange Surf Life Saving Club in suburban Adelaide who was named Assessor of the Year.

Surf Life Saving SA has commended the pair on their success.

“These two highly ambitious surf lifesavers have been powerhouses within the member education space, driving several initiatives at club and state level across metro and regional locations,” a spokesperson said.

“They exemplify exceptional leadership and mentorship within our movement, and consistently work towards helping our members upskill and progress within their own surf lifesaving journeys.

“Julie and Hannah are truly deserving of this honour.”
