Mac Park motorfest

The 2023 Northcott Contracting/OGR Master of Mac Park, featuring round 4 of the SA State Championships, will be contested this weekend.

The race is shaping up to be cracker, combining Round 4 of the SA State Championships with the local signature feature races.

More than 90 entries have been registered for racing on Saturday and Sunday.

While it’s unfortunate that reigning champion Arthur Sissis is unable to compete due to injury, there is no shortage of fast riders in with a chance.

Two triple-crown winners in Dave Trotter and William Strugnell will hit the local circuit, as well as ASBK regular Michael Kemp, all of which fancy their chances.

They will be pushed by Dwayne Tosen and Charles Holding, first and third in the SA Championships respectively, as well as club stalwart Rusty Crane who is currently sitting in fourth.

Of course, in racing anything can happen and there’s a large grid of riders also in with a chance.

The sidecar contingent continues its recent resurgence with 13 outfits entered, including multiple winners in father and son duo David and Stephen Jones, but now completing on separate machines.

The racing is always fierce, and with so many sidecars competing the action will be nothing short of spectacular.

As always, the smaller classes also feature large grids, with frenetic action guaranteed.

The addition of the bLU cRU junior series is a recent initiative, giving young riders the chance to gain experience, show their skills, and provide a pathway into the national series.

With fine weather forecast for the weekend, excellent viewing spots around the track, full canteen and bar facilities available, and entry only $10 with under 16 free, the Master of Mac Park has all the elements of a great family friendly day out.
