Male cancer awareness push

Male cancer awareness push

The Limestone Coast Prostate Cancer Support Group (LCPCSG) in conjunction with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) will host several notable events in Mount Gambier this month, which is Prostate Month.

With around 10 men dying each day in Australia from prostate cancer it was decided by the LCPCSG there should be a public meeting to provide men and their families with prostate health information.

With this in mind an awareness evening will be held on Monday, September 18 in the Mount Gambier City Hall from 7pm to 9pm with entry from the cave gardens.

Speakers will include urologist Dr Adee Davidson, Charge Radiation Therapist Liam Jukes, Prostate Cancer Nurse Tracy Bryant and Nurse Practitioner Stuart Wilder.

These speakers will provide information covering their area of expertise with time after each speaker for questions from the audience.

Wives and partners are welcome as cancer can affect all members in a family.

For those residing away from Mount Gambier there will be a free bus leaving from both Naracoorte/ Penola and Millicent.

Phone 0427 978 898 to book a seat on the bus.

Printed information freely available and speakers will be available after the event for further questions.

This awareness evening is being supported by LCPCSG, PCFA, Win TV, and City of Mount Gambier.
