Man accused of threatening police officer barred from town

ALimestone Coast man appeared in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court last week accused of two counts of threatening to kill or endanger life.

Stephen Grigor faced Magistrate Koula Kossiavelos via audio visual link from custody for a bail hearing represented by his defence lawyer.

The police prosecutor said while he was not opposed to granting home detention bail, he asked that additional conditions be applied.

The conditions included Mr Grigor being unable to enter or remain within 50km of the township of Keith, complying with his intervention order and not contacting the alleged victim or their family members.

The police prosecutor stated the reason for the accused being unable to enter or remain within 50km of the township of Keith was because one of the victims is a police officer.

“This would give us enough room for her to still be able to conduct her work around the township of Keith as if she would proceed outside of that town as well,” he said.

Mr Grigor was granted bail and adjourned to reappear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court yesterday (Monday) for a charge determination hearing.
