Market makes difference

Funds raised by the monthly community market in the Millicent parklands on Saturday will benefit a childhood cancer charity.

The Millicent Lions Club will host the market on behalf of Wattle Range Council and will combine it with a “Big barbecue”.

It is an annual fundraising event undertaken by many of the 1200 Lions clubs across the country.

Funds raised at the Millicent community market will be used to help the Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation.

Its mission is to prevent kids with cancer dying by raising funds nationally and donating these funds to the best scientific and clinical childhood cancer research conducted right across Australia.

As with previous markets, council will have support staff on duty and it is meeting the costs of entertainer Brenton Williams.
