The University of South Australia Mount Gambier Campus invites the community to attend its two upcoming public lectures.
The first lecture, ‘Improving Mental Health and Identifying the Tools for Suicide Prevention’ will be held tomorrow evening, presented by tradesman Jeremy Forbes.
Mr Forbes co-founded Hope Assistance Local Tradies (HALT) in 2013 after a local tradesman took their own life by suicide.
Mr Forbes has experienced the highs and lows of the building industry and takes a ‘whole of community’ approach to improving mental health and suicide prevention.
Pre-lecture drinks will begin at 6pm and the lecture will start at 6.30pm followed by a light supper.
The Mount Gambier Campus will hold this lecture in conjunction with the Mount Gambier and Districts Suicide Prevention Network.
Registrations are essential and can be made via Eventbrite. This event will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend.
The second lecture, ‘How to Understand and Manage Chronic Pain’ will be presented by Professor Lorimer Moseley on Thursday, June 16.
Mr Moseley will speak about the advances in how to understand and manage chronic pain.
