Mil Lel blitzes mid-week comp in Mount Gambier

Whilst Mount Gambier enjoyed a big downpour and a bit of thunder just before 6pm on Wednesday night, it was not enough to dampen the enthusiasm of the Fast4 competition last week.

Players got out on the court with the squeegees and the courts were ready to be played on within half an hour with nice blue skies above and steamy weather.

Ladder leaders Mount Schank continued on their winning ways this week, with a ripping contest against The Violet Crumbles.

Mount Schank stared slow, with the Crumbles taking two of the first three sets, but Mount Schank rallied to sneak home by just two games 3-21 to 3-19.

Sophie Boston again starred for the Schank, taking all three of her sets.

Overall, this contest could have gone either way, with all bar one set going down to a 4-3 score line.

Court Jesters suffered their first loss of the season this week, going down to Mil Lel White 2-14 to 4-19.

The Jesters started quite well, securing two of the first three sets, but it was all one-way traffic after that, with Mil Lel storming home for a comfortable win.

Jess Douglas was in great form, leading the way for Mil Lel with three convincing wins, whilst Sam Batty was not far off for the Jesters with a couple of wins under his belt.

In the other two matches, Mil Lel Green took down Too Cole for School 4-17 to 2-17, and Suttontown gave Double Dutch a hiding 6-24 to 0-3.

Jason Brooks showed the way for Mil Lel Green with three wins on the night, and it was a great all-round performance by Suttontown to take the points against Double Dutch.
