Millicent dominance shines

North Gambier v Millicent

The clash between North Gambier and Millicent at Vansittart Park Oval proved Millicent’s dominance in the 2023 season.

It was an important match for North Gambier’s season as it hoped to prove it could go up against the best of the best and get the result, however it was not meant to be.

The final score of 45 to 75 in favour of Millicent reflects its dominance on the field against the home side.

In the first quarter Millicent set the tone, gaining an early lead with 25 points to North Gambier’s 8.

The momentum continued in the Saints’ favour and by halftime they had maintained their advantage with a score of 27 to 17.

With only 10 points the difference at half time North Gambier was still in match however Millicent came out after the main break and blew the game out with early third quarter goals.

Millicent’s ball movement proved too quick for the Tigers and at three quarter time the Saints were 31 points up.

Despite North Gambier’s efforts it struggled to close the gap in the fourth quarter.

While the home side won the final term with four goals to three it was not enough, finishing 30 points behind at the final siren.

North Gambier players Sam Stafford, Sam Egan, Aaron Dally, Josh Jenner, Sam Zeitz and Cameron Ortlepp were the highlights for their side in a disappointing loss.

Millicent’s best players Harry Tunkin, Clinton Gallio, Hamish McRae, Josh Werchon, Micah Rupcic and Zac McGuinness were instrumental in securing the Saints’ 12th win of the season.

North Gambier’s next game against East Gambier is shaping up to be an incredible match up with the Tigers needing to get a win to keep a distance between itself and the bottom three.

Millicent will face off against Casterton Sandford in a match the Saints will be confident they can get the result in.
