Millicent show call to be made

Adecision about staging the 2021 Millicent Show is set to be made at a committee meeting of the Millicent Show Society on Monday night.

It is scheduled to be held in just over two months’ time on November 5-7.

Onerous COVID protocols forced the cancellation of the Millicent Show in 2020 and the committee will assess if the current requirements for such large-scale public events can be met.

COVID protocols have already been linked to the cancellation of this year’s Penola Show and the Royal Adelaide Show.

If the green light is given for this year’s Millicent Show, the regular attractions will be back in 2021 including the yard dogs, horses, motorbikes and fireworks.

All going well, Chris Sperou, the 82-year-old stunt pilot, will be putting on a display like he did at Millicent a few years ago.
