Police nabbed a series of drivers in the Limestone Coast over the weekend, with a range of offences detected.
About 6am am on Friday police stopped a car driving on Jones Street, Naracoorte.
Police spoke to the driver, a 47-year-old local man, and checks revealed the man’s licence was disqualified.
He was reported for driving disqualified and he will appear in court at a later date.
About 3.50pm on Friday Limestone Coast police were on Jarrah Street, Mount Gambier when they observed a vehicle turn from Jarrah Street into Chestnut Close.
Police checks revealed the registered owner had a disqualified licence.
Police stopped the car and spoke to the driver, a 40-year-old Mount Gambier man, and placed him under arrested for driving disqualified and possession of cannabis, after a small amount of cannabis and equipment was located in the car.
He will appear in court at a later date.
Just before 11am on Saturday police stopped a car driving on Carpenter Rocks Road, Compton.
Checks revealed the driver, a 31-year-old local woman, was disqualified.
Police reported her for driving disqualified and impounded her vehicle for 28 days.
She will appear in court at a later date.
About 8.45pm on Saturday police stopped a car driving on Dunn Street, Bordertown.
The driver, a 27-year-old Bordertown man, was breath tested allegedly returning a positive reading of 0.254.
Further checks also revealed the man’s licence was disqualified.
He was reported for driving disqualified and drink driving, and issued with a 12 month instant loss of licence.
His vehicle was clamped by police for 28 days and he will appear in court at a later date.
At 2am on Sunday police stopped a car driving on Bay Road in Mount Gambier.
The driver, a 47-year-old local man was breath tested, allegedly returning a positive reading of 0.132.
He was reported for drink driving and issued with a six month instant loss of licence.
His vehicle was impounded for 28 days and he will appear in court at a later date.
At about 8.20pm on Sunday police stopped a car travelling on Jenkins Terrace, Naracoorte.
The driver, a 32-year-old Naracoorte man was breath tested, allegedly returning a positive reading of 0.123.
He was reported for drink driving and issued with a six month instant loss of licence.
His vehicle was impounded for 28 days and he will appear in court at a later date.
