Just after 3.30am on Saturday, March 25, police were called to Jubilee Highway East after a man was found lying on the median strip with facial injuries.

The victim reported walking through Frew Park from Mitchell Street and as he reached the highway, he was approached by two unknown men.

The two men began punching and kicking him where he lost consciousness and sustained a fractured eye socket and bruising to his face.

He attended hospital for treatment.

One suspect is described as having a skinny build with short dark hair and wearing a cream or other light coloured top.

The second suspect is described as having a muscular/stocky build with blonde/strawberry blonde hair and wearing dark clothing.

Mount Gambier police are investigating the incident and ask anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers online at crimestopperssa.com.au/ or via phone 1800 333 000.
