Movie fun in fundraising

The Lions Club of Blue Lake City Lionesses will host a screening of the Mount Gambier premiere of Downtown Abbey – A New Era at the Oatmill Cinema tonight with all proceeds donated to the Lions Flood Relief.

There will be two ticket number prizes of wine and a food voucher from the RSL, and best dressed will receive wine, a RSL meal voucher and a box of chocolate.

The Lions Club of Blue Lake City Lionesses publicity officer Wil Cousins said ticket sales were going well and a lot of people were getting on board with the 1920s dress up theme.

“We have had a busy few months through COVID-19 and we thought this would be a nice way to have an enjoyable night out and raise funds for a worthwhile cause,” she said.

“We have not been able to host many movie nights with COVID-19 restrictions but our last one in 2019 showing Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again was quite successful.

“The generosity of the community in the South East when it comes to fundraising is overwhelming, it always blows me away.”

Tickets are $20 and include refreshments before the movie. Contact Gayle Green on 0400 232 784.
