Netball finals in sight

The finals itch has arrived at the Mount Gambier Netball Association with one game showcasing the taste of what is yet to come.

The showdown between Zodiacs and Intruders in the Under 13A was simply one that showcase the power these youngsters harness.

Jacquelyn Angelino once again dominated the court for another week, she is a player that cannot miss the goals but the fighting duo of Molly Maria and Kali Lamont who played in GD and GK respectively for Intruders were there fighting for the ball.

Alana Boguta, Vespa Scott, and Kayla Cameron were the Zodiacs defensive and they were strong from to start to finish, Scott was a fighter under the ring against Sarea Martin and Tayla Stephenson, the Intruders GS and GA respectively, but MaKenzie Porter was another standout for the Zodiacs side who played in the Centre and Wing Attack position, shared with Tayah Fraser.

Both teams flowed together well and never freaked out on the court, and the last quarter was intense as both teams were so close to each other in the score but Zodiacs took away another win for the week with a score of 38-36.

The B2 game of Amazons and Saints was a Saints dominated match up but Amazons showcased how strong they are as a team.

Becky Kim shot the first goal for Amazons in the first 30 seconds of the game, but the Saints team heightened their defensive strengths immediately, becoming a stronger and more powerful team on the court.

The Amazons team were still getting their shots in, but Saints were playing on another level.

Imogen Jacobs was the standout on the court from start to finish.

She played in the position of WA and C and did not fall behind in either positions.

Jacobs fought for the ball at any given opportunity and would smash her way into any players who were in the way of her.

Saints held their own throughout the match and finished with a score of 42-29, an amazing achievement.

Next week will target the Under 15s and the B1s with impressive games that you do not want to miss.
