Netball SA honour

Four South East netballers were last week named among the state’s best netballers rewarded for their performances at the Country Championships.

The quartet was recognised with selection in this year’s Senior Team of the Year at Netball SA’s awards gala last week.

The team features players from eight different associations around South Australia, with the Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Netball Association (KNTNA) and Great Southern Netball Association (GSNA) having two representatives each.

KNT representatives Charlee Hodges and Tyler Atkinson were named in the team, as were Abbey Duncan from the Mid South East Netball Association and Western Border Netball Association’s Sarah Ritter.

Former Mount Gambier netballer Eliza Hunter, who plays for Contax, was named as centre court reserve in the Hospital Research Foundation Group Premier League Team of the Year.

She was among seven Adelaide athletes named in positions, with three selected as reserves for each section of the court.
