The Mount Gambier Netball Association turned pink on Saturday to show support for breast cancer awareness.
Players wore pink socks and ribbons, while balloons decorated outside the club rooms.
But the action this weekend on the court was definitely good to watch.
Zodiacs and Amazons faced off for Round 3 in the Under 13A, with Zodiacs looking to continue undefeated.
The Amazons side was tough in the first quarter, only trailing Zodiacs by a goal, and led by Lauren White (GD) and Harper Aschberger (GK) who were aggressive in the goals from start to finish.
White and Aschberger were hungry for any opportunity to touch the ball, but determination from Gretta Doman and Jacquelin Angelino was unmatched.
Angelino was impressive as she shot 29 goals for the game.
Tayah Fraser (WA) and Mackenzie Porter (C) worked hard for Zodiacs in the mid court as was Amazons’ Abby Cox (WA), and Maddison Green (C) who also helped the flow of traffic throughout the game.
Zodicas proved too strong, claiming the win 40-11.
The senior match of the round had Hobitz take on Zodiacs in B2.
Both teams were tough on the court and despite Zodiacs being riddled with injuries from almost start to finish, they did not drop their heads, rather the players seemingly fought harder for the ball.
The defensive efforts of Maddison Bull (GD) and Kate Treloar (GK) proved an advantage for their team.
Hobitz’s Breeana Jones was a stand out at GD and GK, actively defending and reading the play well.
Zodiacs took the win, defeating Hobitz 48-24.
