New location for vaccination clinic

The former Millicent veterinary clinic is now being used as a temporary COVID vaccination clinic.

The Millicent Hospital COVID-19 vaccination clinic has moved to the dedicated site on Mount Gambier Road near Billygoat Corner.

The building was vacated four years ago and is currently on the market.

The clinic move has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks and was confirmed in a recent statement issued by the Limestone Coast Local Health Network.

“We want to ensure we can continue to deliver healthcare services to the community,” stated the health authorities,” a spokesperson said.

“The new clinic location will continue to offer first dose and second dose vaccination appointments on the same days, from 9am- 3pm every Wednesday and Thursday.

“At this stage, walk-in appointments are not being offered at the clinic.

“Currently, we are administering the vaccine to an average of 66 people per day at our Millicent COVID-19 clinic and we encourage people to book an appointment at sahealth.gov.sa.au/covidvaccine and get vaccinated as soon as they can.”

COVID-19 vaccinations have been provided for several months at the Medical Clinic Millicent and Beachport Medical Services.

Meanwhile, there has been a strong response to the pre-booked COVID-19 vaccination clinics each Thursday at the Kimberly-Clark Australia Millicent.

These are available to the mill’s 400 employees and contractors as well as the general public.

“We have had a really positive response from our people and the local community and registrations fill up quickly,” a KCA spokesperson said.
