Another week of high intensity action took place in Round 2 of the Mount Gambier Netball Association 2023 season.
This week in the Under 13Bs, the little players were bursting with energy with the return of the sport.
The junior match of the week was Intruders taking on Saints, which was a great contest between the two teams.
Saints were tough from the first whistle to the last, but Intruders kept up a fight throughout the match, trying to level up to Saints as much as possible.
The Saints players were good at defending the ball and always keeping their hands up, which was able to further their score into the game.
Into the second half, the Saints were dominating the court.
Kayleigh Albery played C and GK and played both roles well and despite her young age, knew how to read the game well.
Charlotte Forrest played GA and WD in the match up and was a little pocket rocket on the court, covering plenty of space at all times.
The Saints held up well in the end, beating Intruders 13-3.
In the Under 13B ladder, Zodiacs hold 1st position, Saints 2nd, Hobitz 3rd and Intruders 4th.
The highlight of the seniors was the A2 match between Vicis Red and Saints, which featured outstanding performances from all players.
The teams were close throughout the whole match but Saints came out strong fighting all the way.
Vicis Red continued to bounce back with plenty of voice on the court, to lift their efforts.
Unfortunately, Vicis Red were not able to put up a fight and took a loss of 38-30.
Saints sit in 1st, Hobitz 2nd, Intruders 3rd, Vicis Red 4th, Vicis Green 5th, and Zodiacs 6th.
