Moorak Primary School was excited to welcome the addition of their new preschool building, which arrived on site last week.
The $1.8m facility is comprised of six modules which were built in Adelaide and made the journey to Moorak on semi-trailers.
Staff and school community members watched on under sunny skies as the building was carefully craned into place.
Moorak Primary School Principal Peter Mitchinson said the new purpose-built preschool will help meet the needs of increasing enrolments.
“It is a culmination of lots of hard work from many members of our school community and the Department for Education,” he said.
Mr Mitchinson said the staff and students shared their ideas with the architect, which influenced the design of the new preschool.
Mr Mitchinson said they had 18 students who were looking forward to starting Kindergarten this year in the new building, which will have a capacity for 33 children in the future.
“The new building and outdoor space will provide exciting educational opportunities for the children,” Mr Mitchinson said.
“And the staff are really looking forward to helping them make the most of their time in kindy.”
