Open gardens in full bloom

Two open gardens held in Penola on the weekend proved to be an outstanding success.

The Still Water quince fair attracted 640 people over the weekend.

Visitors came from as far as Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne along with many locals. Some of the funds raised from the open day will go to the CWA Penola Terra Rossa branch whose members manned the gates.

The Camawald garden of Sue and John Zwar’s was also a very popular destination with more than 400 people visiting on the day.

This event was a fundraiser for the Coonawarra-Penola RSL and it is envisaged that approximately $4000 was raised. Proceeds will go to the upkeep of the National Trust buildings in Penola.
