Phone tower upgrade signalled

Telstra plans to upgrade its telecommunications equipment on its tower at Glens Lane at Tantanoola.

It dates back to the 1990s and provides coverage to the nearby Kimberly-Clark Australia Millicent Mill.

The public company proposes to replace redundant mobile phone equipment and undertake internal works as part of its upgraded 5G network.

According to Telstra, the equipment is regarded as low impact under the Federal Government standards for such facilities.

Public comment on the proposal must be lodged by November 2.
