‘Powerplay’ introduced

Last week at the Millicent Bowls club 28 players took part in a 2-4-2 game which was boosted by a new rule.

The tournament committee introduced a “Power Play” for one end of the 20 end game which had to be nominated before the end started.

If that team won the end, then the score for that end only was doubled.

During the game the weather turned a little wet which stopped play for about 15 minutes, allowing players to retreat to the clubroom for a nice warm tea or coffee before recommencing the game.

Making the most of the new rule and mixed weather conditions were Sam Schofield and Andre Reinders.

The duo was the winning team of the day with a score of 33+16.

Runners up with a score of 33+10 were to Denis Clifford and Carl Schapel.

Other winning teams for the day were, Adriana Ross and Ian Ross 33+8, Frank Cooper and Steve Carnellor 33+7, Brian Goode and Garth Baker 33+1, Eddie Hann and Neil Whelan 32+9 and Derrick Lindh and Bill Burdon 30+3.

Players were reminded of the club events that are coming up and are posted on the website in coming events, so please register if any club member intends playing in these events.
