Premier Pete hits town

SA Premier Peter Malinauskas is in the Limestone Coast for a whistlestop forestry tour.

The Premier has kicked off the day by delivering a forestry focused election commitment with the release of the South Australian Wood Fibre and Timber Industry Master Plan.

The Master Plan provides a vision to further grow and develop South Australia’s $1.4b forest and timber industry for now and future decades.

The Plan has been developed by the Forest Industries Advisory Council of South Australia (FIAC-SA) in consultation with the Minister for Forest Industries, the Honourable Clare Scriven MLC.

Minister Scriven and Troy Bell, Member for Mount Gambier were also in attendance to support the launch.

Later today the Premier will head to Tarpeena to open NeXTimber’s Australia’s first Radiata Pine Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) and Glue-Laminated Timber (GLT) manufacturing facility.

Make sure you keep an eye on the next edition of The SE Voice for all the latest updates on the Premier’s visit.
