The Mount Gambier Residents and Ratepayers Association has appointed a transitional chairperson to shepherd the group into becoming an incorporated body.
The association has operated as an unincorporated association for the past year with Mount Gambier resident Di Ind set to oversee the incorporation progress.
Members of the association’s steering group welcomed Ms Ind to the role.
“We welcome the expertise of Di to assist the association,” a spokesperson said.
“Her ceaseless dedication and expertise in community advocacy, business owner, board experience, charitable works, dedication to further community education, tireless work ethic and love for improving the lives of Mount Gambier residents will help the association achieve its goals in the future by providing invaluable assistance in the development of a constitution and plan for the future for the association.”
The group will hold an initial community meeting has been organised at 3pm on November 18 at the Woolstore Brewery, with all welcome.
