Regional educator raises hand

AMount Gambier teacher has announced his candidacy for the position of Australian Education Union President in South Australia.

Educator Matthew Key will likely be contesting the election with the incumbent president Andrew Gohl.

Mr Key’s experience includes teaching senior secondary English and working as a School Wellbeing Leader in the Far North of South Australia and currently working as the Deputy Principal at Mulga Street Primary School.

Mr Key said his current experience in schools gave him fresh perspective about the issues facing educators in South Australia.

He said he believed he brought a unique perspective to the forefront, advocating for the voices of all educators and a renewed focus on integrity, vision, and collaboration within the union.
