Regional leader takes on new role

Women in Business and Regional Development have appointed a new board member.

Danielle England – pictured right – is a recognised leader within Australian agriculture and is an extension specialist with AgInnovate, a business that links farmers, researchers, consultants and agribusiness to enable change in the industry.

Bringing with her over 20 years of experience, Danielle holds a Bachelor of Agribusiness and a Graduate Diploma in Rural Systems Management, she is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Ms England is also a farm business partner at Black island a 640 hectare wool and cropping property near Keilira via Kingston.

She was a recipient of the 2020 WiBRD entrepreneurial scholarship with her business Black Island Produce which grows seasonal vegetables for delivery across South Australia’s

Limestone Coast and is a recipient of the 2019 Ag Institute Award of Excellence and was the 2013 West Australian RIRDC Rural Woman of the Year.

Ms England’s appointment comes as Liz Rymill resigned from her position on the board to dedicate more time to her family and other pursuits.

At the group’s annual general meeting, WiBRD Chair Jacinta Jones acknowledged Ms Rymill for her invaluable contribution to WiBRD during her tenure.

“Liz joined the WiBRD board in 2019 and has been instrumental in supporting the board to develop their updated strategic direction,” she said. Ms Jones also recognised the numerous achievements of the network over the past year, in particular, she congratulated the board on their active contribution to the pivoting of WiBRD as it adapted to the COVID-19 climate.

“We have emerged from the current landscape in a strong position thanks to the organisation’s commitment to our continuous development, innovation, strategy and improvement to our underlying processes,” she said.

The current board now comprises Ms Jones, Managing Director of Blue Lake Homes who will continue in her role as chair, Cathy Beckman of Salts of the Earth Mount Gambier as deputy chair, Harriet Keatley of Nutrien Keatley as treasurer, Nicole Reschke of Koonara

Wines, Toni Vorenas of Metro Bakery and Cafe, Ebony Moulden of Bersee Legal and Ms England.
