KEN DANCEY – GOLF

SATURDAY’S Stableford round sponsored by Adam Galpin was won by David Rhook (16) with 40 points from Ian Thompson (11) runner up on 38 points.

Nearest the pins went to Troy O’Connell on the 2nd, David Rhook on the 8th, Ian Thompson on the 13th and A Skinner on the 17th.

Second shot on the 9th went to Scott McKinnon who returns for another game, but not with the score he would have hoped for.

But when you play off a handicap of +1 at Casterton you will have trouble.

We had two players who hit their ball out of bounds on the 1st; not a good way to start a round.

Wednesday

ON WEDNESDAY, 16 players played a Stableford round with Frank McInerney (28) – again getting a ride in the ‘Pope Mobile’ – winning with a score of 42 points from Gary Hegarty (19) on 40 points, on a countback from Max Richardson also on 40 points.

Nearest the pins went to Noel Fitzgerald on the 2nd, Murray Frost on the 8th and 17th and Tyler Vise on the 13th; Richard Layley took second shot on the 9th.

The Tyrepower Award went to Tyler Vise.

Who was the player whose second shot on the 17th managed to shank it into the ‘Pope Mobile’ and saw his ball fly across the green and further away?
