Rider dies following on-property crash

Amotorcyclist has died following a crash on private property in the State’s South East.

Emergency services responded to the Western Flat property at 2.50pm on Sunday after a motorcycle collided with a tree.

Despite the efforts of medical personnel, sadly, the 24-year-old Naracoorte man could not be saved.

Police are preparing a report for the Coroner in relation to the circumstances surrounding the young man’s death.

Meanwhile, fire caused $150,000 damage to a Naracoorte home on Saturday morning.

County Fire Service crews were called to the home at 6:23am after multiple 000 calls.

Five appliances found the building burning well with nobody home.

Crews immediately worked to successfully protect nearby assets and suppress the fire inside the house.

Firefighters were able to prevent the flames from spreading through the whole house, containing the fire to two rooms.

Much of the rest of the house was damaged by smoke and there were no injuries.
