Roo crash injures motorcyclist

The rider of a Harley Davidson motorbike was seriously injured after hitting a kangaroo at Furner on Friday morning.

The alarm was raised with the emergency services at 7.45am and they were called to Conmurra Road about 200 metres north of the Robe/Penola Road.

A 60-year-old local man sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken by the SA Ambulance Service to the Mount Gambier Hospital for treatment.

His motorbike was towed from the scene.

Police and CFS appliances from Millicent and Furner were also present.
