Major roadworks in full swing

Anew set of traffic restrictions on account of roadworks began yesterday on the Princes Highway north of Millicent.

Traffic on the Princes Highway near the intersection with Walkers Tin Hut Road has been temporarily reduced to a single lane with onsite traffic controllers to manage the direction of traffic.

Traffic will be reopened to two lanes with speed restrictions in place Outside of work hours.

To safely facilitate works at the junction, access to Walkers Tin Hut Road has been closed and it will remain in place until Saturday.

Access to Walkers Tin Hut Road (from Princes Highway) will remain closed outside of work hours, with access via Emerald Road.

Following completion of the pavement works, speed restrictions will remain in place until line marking is fully completed.

Motorists might also notice some odours which is normal during asphalt work.

Project completion at this location is expected in early February.

Meanwhile, Bells Road (Argyle Road) will be temporarily closed at the junction with the Princes Highway from January 22 until late February.

The Department for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure is upgrading the Princes Highway corridor, from Meningie to the South Australian/Victorian border, to improve long term safety and efficiency for all road users.

The $190m Princes Highway corridor program is jointly funded by the Federal (80%) and South Australian (20%) governments.
