West Gambier found its kicking boots in the second quarter as the forward line began to capitalise on opportunities, kicking six goals and one behind for the quarter.
North Gambier did its best to keep in touch but only managed the one goal and trailed by 20 points at half time.
After half time, West Gambier came out firing on all cylinders.
The Roos’ midfield dominated the clearances and provided their forwards with numerous scoring chances, kicking two goals two in the third quarter.
The Roos managed to keep the opposition scoreless for the quarter, taking a commanding 34-point lead into the final term.
In the final quarter, North Gambier fought back valiantly, displaying the side’s determination and resilience.
Despite its best efforts West Gambier proved too good and North Gambier could not overcome the deficit, ultimately falling short by 15 points.
The best players for West Gambier were Brandon Newton, Michael Minuzzo, Todd McPartlan, Thomas Holmes and Jordan Williams, and they all played crucial roles in the side’s victory.
For North Gambier, Sam Stafford, Jake Schutz, Sam Egan, Nick McInerney, Josh Jenner and Mitchell Kelton were stand-out performers in defeat.
Stafford was a danger up forward kicking a match high four goals.
