Roosters crow with hard-fought home victory

Bordertown v Kybybolite

In round 8 of Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Netball Association season Bordertown played host to Kybybolite in a tight tussle on the Rooster’s home court on Saturday.

Scoring was pretty even right across four quarters of solid netball and it was Bordertown that came out on top.

For the winners Lucy Murch and Kimberley Langley were named the best, while Charlee Hodges, Gorgia Sealy and Chelsea Bull all fought hard for the Tigers.

Border Districts v Naracoorte

In another close game the Hawks came out on top at the final whistle by a mere three goals.

The Demons held the lead at the first change but Border Districts came back in the second quarter to snatch the ascendancy by half time.

It was even scoring in the third and fourth quarters but it was Border Districts that got the chocolates at the final whistle.

Poppy Moyle-Read and Della Hannaford were the big forces behind the win.

Keith v Padthaway

A 27-goal win was recorded by the Keith Crows over Padthaway.

Keith got out of the blocks early and were never troubled in the remaining three quarters.

The Lions made every effort to rein in the margin but it was a goal-scoring blitz from Danielle Vankalken who shot successfully 56 times to seal the deal for the Crows.

Padthaway named Kaitlyn Ward and Candice Nolan as its top two players in the battle.

Lucindale v Mundulla

It was all even at quarter time with 11 goals apiece in an epic clash between Lucindale and Mundulla.

The Roos came out firing in the second quarter with speed as they made the most of the conditions to take a 10 goal lead into the main break.

The Tigers only scored one goal in the third which meant the result was only going one way.

The Roos did not slow down in the last taking it by the horns and piling on 19 goals to six to win by 25.

Lucindale’s better players were Trudy Lane and Hayley Smart while for Mundulla Danielle Wiese and Aix Lovering claimed the awards.
