Rotary supports ‘End Polio’ campaign

Alocal service club has made a generous donation to fellow volunteers in a bid to “End Polio Now”.

The Rotary Club of Mount Gambier West played host to Rotarians Phil and Joyce Ogden from the Rotary Club of Launceston South at the club’s last meeting.

The Ogdens’ visit was part of their fundraising ride on a tandem bicycle from Adelaide to Sydney raising money for the Rotary” End Polio Now “campaign.

The couple’s ride, which is set to take approximately eight weeks, primarily winds along the coastline south of Adelaide and through Western Victoria onto Melbourne before heading inland.

The Ogdens are stopping at Rotary clubs wherever possible on the way.

Several years ago they cycled from Perth to Adelaide also raising funds to “End Polio Now”.

During their Mount Gambier visit, the Rotary Club of Mount Gambier West donated $1500 towards their cause.
