Roving golfers roll in

The Millicent Golf Club had 28 additional players sign the visitors’ book on Thursday morning.

The visitors called at the Mount Burr course for 18 holes of play as they are part of a month-long coach tour which began in Melbourne.

After their round, they were bussed to The Tasting Room restaurant at Mayura Station for their evening meal.

They were based at Mount Gambier accommodation for two nights.

Millicent has a competition round each Thursday but the 35 local golfers hit off in the morning to avoid the visitors.

Millicent Golf Club president Mark Pilmore said his club regularly welcomes participants on organised golf tours aboard coaches.

“I make a speech of welcome and talk about the course,” Mr Pilmore said.
