Science comes alive at city fair

The Mount Gambier Science Fair is set to explode in a myriad of family focussed fun on

Sunday for the event’s 15th show in Mount Gambier.

This interactive event is designed specifically for families with primary school aged children to enjoy a day of hands-on enjoyment at the Mount Gambier Showgrounds.

The Mount Gambier Science Fair will give children the opportunity to hold native animals, get up close and personal with invertebrates while learning from Bugs n Slugs and explore the hands-on engineering challenges as well as making some of their own.

There will be plenty of entertainment by fabulous science shows such as Marty McBubble’s fantastic Bubble Show and Nitro Nat’s jaw dropping Chemistry Show.

The Science Collective director Brian Haddy said it was a must-see opportunity for any child interested in science and technology with endless possibilities on offer.

“What we have found about the science fair is it can prove to be a lightbulb moment for children to discover their interest in science and passion for a career in the field,” he said.

“Science is not just a subject, it is about being curious about the world around you.

“We are not trying to replace science taught at school we are trying to enhance it.”

Mr Haddy said there would be something for everyone with coffee and catering available.

Tickets for the two sessions – 9.30am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 4pm – will be available through online purchase only.

“We have limited tickets available so make sure to get in quick to secure your place,” Mr Haddy said.
