Accessing council services, searching items from your local library and booking tickets to the latest performance in the Glenelg Shire will now be easier following the launch of three new websites.
The Glenelg Shire Council has unveiled its revamped websites for council services, the Glenelg Libraries and the Portland Arts Centre, offering a contemporary, user-friendly experience.
Glenelg Shire Chief Information Officer Ann Kirkham said the new websites had been identified as a key priority in the 2040 Community Plan and the Council Plan, ensuring quick, digital-friendly options were available.
“More and more of our community are turning to digital methods and want information available in an accessible online format, comments which were captured through our 2040 Community Plan,” she said.
“As a result, we have included this crucial feedback into the new sites.
“There will be an increased level of automation for popular tasks such as ordering replacement bins,
booking the event waste trailer, making a service request, or changing your name or address.
“We will be introducing more automated services like this throughout 2022 and into the future.
“The homepage will also be more intuitive and streamlined to meet the needs of customers.
“It’s an exciting step forward for both our organisation, and our community.”
