All the winners of the monthly Gambier Shooting Supplies High Gun events at Burrungule Park gathered at the South East Field and Game Association Christmas Champion of Champions shoot off.
The Christmas shoot off would decide the ultimate champion of 2021, so the level of competitiveness was extreme.
Ron Rhook from Western Victoria was unable to attend, so the committee invited Declan Wright to participate as a wildcard entry to join his father Chris Wright.
Gavin Dyson, Jamie Dunn and Jeremy Kent were the other shooters in action.
After a brief rain delay a good-sized crowd gathered to watch the action unfold.
A total of 24 targets were shot on the old style sporting clay layout and no one could have scripted the battle to be the best.
Dunn, Dyson and Kent were all tied which necessitated the shoot off went to sudden death.
Kent withstood the pressure to claim the champion of champions title, sponsored by Elders Gambier farm Supplies.
The South East Field and Game`s Christmas shoot event was also held at Burrungule Park recently.
A strong field of 97 sporting clays shooters nominated for the final event of 2021 being 50 targets sponsored by South East Vets, South West Freight, Whitty Engineering and Collins Court Butchers.
Dunn (47/50) claimed the Gambier Shooting Supplies High Gun after a count back with Kent.
Charles Wallis (19/20) won the 20 target Side x Side Compak event over Kent and Declan Wright after a countback with both shooting 19/20.
