Two local young people represented the region at the final of the SA Country Show’s Young Rural Ambassador awards.

The event was held at the Adelaide showgrounds with the South East and Border Show Association represented by Penola’s Bella Minge and Ryan O’Shaughnessy from Naracoorte.

Seven representatives attended from show associations Northern, Eyre Peninsula, Southern, Central and South East and Border.

All entrants were interviewed by a panel of judges including Barbara-Ann Cowery from Department of Primary Industries and Regions, SA Country Shows Executive member Amanda Lock and Agricultural Shows Australia National Rural Ambassador Chairperson Peter Angus.

Ms Cowery said the judging panel had an extremely hard task to select a winner.

“You are all winners and you should be extremely proud of how you all presented yourself today”, she said.

All entrants were informally interviewed by Annabel Homer from Voice It.

Guest speaker was Minister for Primary Industries, Regional Development and Forest Industries Clare Scriven.

Mackenzie Wilson from Northern was announced the winner, with Daniella Yates from Eyre Peninsula the runner up.
