Teams from all over the South East travelled to the Millicent Bowls Club for a men’s fours competition last Thursday.
A total of 18 teams and 72 players from Kingston, Mount Gambier RSL, Mount Gambier, Port McDonnell, PortMacDonnell and Kalangadoo played over three games of 12 ends on the day
In first place with a score of 84 points were John Schroeder, Andy Ashby, Graham Dent and Graham Ellis from Mount Gambier RSL.
Millicent’s John Scudds, John Buhlmann, Graham Parsons and David Crase performed well to score 81 points and claim the runners-up position, while John Drew, Denis Clifford, Brian Goode and Ed Fitter also performed well in home conditions.
Prizes were also awarded for the best first, second and third game performances with the former going to Kingston’s Jack Vawser, Rod Wilmont, Bill Armfield and Bill Scott.
The best second game team was Chris Earl, Aaron Emonson, David Reichelt and Brian Roper, while the final award went to Mount Gambier’s John Robinson, Jeff England, Steve Farrell and Graham Crowder.
