The fixture for the 2023 Western Border season has been released with the season set to kick off on April 22.

Four teams will play on the day with West Gambier hosting Casterton Sandford, and East Gambier hosting Millicent.

The traditional Anzac Day match will have South Gambier taking on North Gambier, with South Gambier having hosting rights this season.

Round 2 will see a grand final rematch as South Gambier travels to Millicent to face off against the reigning premiers.

East Gambier will head across the border to face off against Casterton Sandford, and North Gambier will host West Gambier looking for revenge for their semi final loss last year to the Tigers.

Millicent will travel to take on North Gambier at home in round 3, while South Gambier and East Gambier will also play at home against Casterton Sandford and West Gambier respectively.

In round 4 East Gambier will host North Gambier, South Gambier will take on West Gambier in an exciting match up.

The final game of the round will have Casterton Sandford making the trek to Millicent.

May 20 will see round 5 with home teams South Gambier, Millicent and North Gambier.

Playing away from home will be East Gambier, West Gambier and Casterton Sandford, including West Gambier taking on Millicent in a grand final rematch in the netball.

Round 6 will begin the reverse fixture as the sides will again play against their round 1 opposition.

The second round of the reverse fixture will take place the following week, while after round 7 the league will have a week off on June 10 as the SE interleague carnival takes place.

The Western Border league will be back with round 8 on June 17, West Gambier takes on East Gambier, while South Gambier and North Gambier will be making the trip to Casterton and Millicent respectively.

Following another two rounds of exciting local footy and netball there will be another bye due to the State Country Championships.

But once again the football and netball will return on July 15 with a massive round of footy.

South Gambier will host North Gambier in what is sure to be a fiery affair.

Round 16 will be the final round of the home and away season, concluding on August 19.

For two sides this will be the last day of their season, for four others they will look to go into finals in winning form.

The round is sure to be a hugely exciting contest as West Gambier goes up against East Gambier, North Gambier hosts Millicent, and South Gambier travels to play Casterdon Sandford.

The ground which will be hosting the finals has also been announced with the first semi final to take place at North Gambier’s home ground Vansittart Park on August 26.

Teams playing in the second semi final will have to travel to Millicent as they will be hosting on September 2.

The preliminary final will be played at East Gambier the following week, while South Gambier will host this year’s grand final, scheduled for September 16.
