To pay tribute to the Australian-enhanced Volkswagen Amarok W580, tuning company Walkinshaw has rolled out the red carpet to ‘bid farewell’ to the first-generation Amarok with a Special Edition package, with just 99 instalments available to the public.

Since the launch of the Amarok V6 in 2016, Volkswagen has felt the utility deserved a flagship performance variant, with their call made possible in partnership with Walkinshaw to deliver a force to be reckoned with and create a true “GT style” utility which is both powerful and dynamic, with bold and aggressive styling to match.

The special edition builds on this partnership further to create the ultimate package, boasting a powerful 190kW 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel engine, pumped up to 200kW on overboost, the Amarok W580SE packs a punch for all occasions, whether daily driving, heavy hauling or taking to the rough terrain.

With 580Nm of torque, the enhanced Volkswagen can take full advantage of its 3,500kg braked towing capacity.

Adding to an already impressive list of standard features on the Amarok range, the Walkinshaw enhanced W580SE receives a moulded sports bar painted to match the vehicle body colour, 20-inch ‘Talca’ gloss black alloy wheels, Durabed coated tubliner, black side steps, and Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights paired with front fog lights with static cornering functionality.

Neatly mounted recessed in the front bumper, a 75-watt LED light bar will help keep the road ahead lit up in the darkest of nights, while a matte black sticker kit and Walkinshaw 580 graphics add extra spice to the exterior of the already striking Amarok design to set it apart from the crowd.

On the inside, occupants are treated to art velour heated seats, black headliner and pillar trim, Volkswagen’s Discovery Media system with App-Connect, Climatronic air conditioning system, steering wheel mounted paddle shifters and a premium colour dash display.

Comfort is optimum inside the Amarok W580SE cabin, with the Walkinshaw emblazoned seating contouring the body too ensure occupants are tucked safely inside the vehicle will still looking the business.

The same high-quality ride remains from the other Walkinshaw enhanced Amarok W580’s in the line-up, capitalising on the special 4×4-tuned suspension and Pirelli Scorpion ATR tyres.

A 0-100km/h time of 7.3 seconds is rather impressive for a large utility vehicle and taking into consideration the 200kW of power on overboost and 580Nm of torque the Volkswagen fuel efficiency is also impressive recording a figure of 9.5-litres per hundred kilometres for combined highway and inner-city motoring.

With a handful of Volkswagen Amaroks available at Barry Maney Volkswagen, now is the time to secure your very own spruced-up utility with a special touch before the second generation launches later in 2023.

Pop in and see the team at 43 Percy Street, Mount Gambier or call the dealership on 8721 3400 to find our more about the Volkswagen Amarok or experience the W580SE for yourself.
