Mount Gambier businesswoman Karen Bryant (pictured) was recently recognised with the Rising Star award for WA/SA at the 2022 AusMumpreneur awards.
Ms Bryant is the director of Mount Gambier-based recruitment and human resources agency Latitude Recruitment and said receiving second place was “very exciting”.
She attended the AusMumpreneur Gala Awards Dinner in Sydney’s Circular Quay accompanied by her mother.
“It was wonderful getting the finalist response and then on the night going up to celebrate and be with other Mumpreneurs,” Ms Bryant said.
“It was amazing to be in a room with hundreds of people at Circular Quay, it was really special.”
The awards are presented by AusMumpreneur and the Women’s Business School and acknowledge the outstanding achievements of Australian mums in business.
“This is a really nice reflection of all the hard work we are putting in and all the work that we are getting to do with our clients,” Ms Bryant said.
“I think the past year I have worked really hard on just developing lots of procedures and systems in my team and making sure that my team are happy and going really well and giving them a lot of support, all the training they are wanting.”
Ms Bryant said receiving the award showed potential clients that Latitude Recruitment was a growing business and they were leaders in the service they provided.
She said the award also assured current clients they were dealing with the right people and receiving a great service along with fantastic support from the Latitude Recruitment team.
“We are really trying to work really hard to give them the best service and support that we can and we have been recognised for that,” she said.
“I think that is the exciting thing, that it is proof that all of our hard work has been paying off.
“It’s great just to get to work with our clients and candidates moving forward knowing that we are doing the right things and that we will hopefully go one better next year and get first.
“All that extra work and all the hard work for our clients and candidates was definitely worthwhile.”
