Students build community ties

Allendale East Area School students are building strong community relations through a successful grant application through the Stand Like Stone Foundation.

The money donated was used to purchase timber for the construction of picnic tables and chairs to be distributed around the yard for students and staff to use.

With the generous support from OneFortyOne, more than $5000 of timber was delivered to the Port MacDonnell Men’s Shed where construction of the six tables took place.

The school recently had the pleasure of hosting a morning tea for the bayside group to show appreciation for their efforts, with students helping prepare and serve morning tea.

Allendale East Area School principal Kylie Smith said the school community was grateful for the continued support and ongoing relationship students had with the Port MacDonnell Men’s Shed and OneFortyOne.
